Dr. Chen Wang is a highly respected and renowned Chinese respiratory disease scientist, who currently serves as the President of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) and Peking Union Medical College (PUMC). He also holds the position of Director at the National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Diseases in China. With a distinguished career spanning several decades, Dr. Wang has made significant contributions to the field of respiratory diseases and public health in China and worldwide.   Dr. Wang's research primarily focuses on chronic respiratory diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and lung cancer. He has played a pivotal role in the development of national guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases in China. His work has led to a better understanding of the pathogenesis, prevention, and management of respiratory diseases, ultimately improving the quality of life for millions of patients.    Dr. Wang's outstanding achievements in the field of respiratory medicine have earned him numerous accolades and awards. Some of the most notable among them include the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, and the Guanghua Engineering Technology Award. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to medical science, Dr. Wang was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2011.
